PEARLS Leadership Seminar
PEARLS leadership seminar was a fantastic experience that allowed us to interact with the Rotary Clubs of the district. Over the duration of this weekend we were able to develop ties with these clubs and enhanced our previous understanding of what Rotary did, how they functioned and what the organisation had achieved. As an Interact member attending the seminar it was very entertaining as well as amusing to be able to participate in the activities that were held. It was also great to be able to discuss issues with current Rotary presidents to get ideas, and a greater understanding of what leadership was and the most effective ways to implement it.
Assembly
The Assembly was also a great weekend that aided in developing how to run and operate a club. It had a focus on the different positions and areas of a club, and allowed you to increase knowledge in a chosen area. For new Interact members it would be a fantastic event to attend as it will help to develop an understanding of how to run a club, and would make it easier to begin with the operations of each Interact group.
Conference
The annual conference was very enjoyable and was a great opportunity to meet new people with similar interest. Over the weekend we had a great time and were able to promote the events that our club had held over our year in office, and we could display the achievements we had made. It was also a great way to meet other Interact clubs and to discuss events that each club had held. It was also an opportunity to begin new joint events with other clubs to make a larger and more successful event. At the conference we could also get an understanding of the amount of Rotary members throughout the district and could see the different events and achievements that Rotary had made throughout the year.
I would recommend that representatives from Interact clubs attend all these events as it was a fantastic way to make the club more successful, and was also very enjoyable. The Rotary members are always friendly and welcoming and make the events fun as well as educational.

Robertson Street Railway Estate. The purpose of the gardens is to be a place of solace and recovery for those in the community who are living with mental illness.
The only facility at the gardens is water, and there is a need for toilets, power and storage.
What is needed is organisational assistance and help with funding to provide facilities at the gardens. There is also ’shovel and dirt’ type assistance required such as the provision of a decent access track.
